A valid passport is required by all individuals wishing to enter the Czech Republic. Validity varies - for most countries the passport must be valid for at least six months from the date on which the holder enters the Czech Republic. European Nationals may enter the Czech Republic with an ID card in countries where these are in existence (e.g. France).
Before traveling to the Czech Republic, a non-EU citizen must generally obtain a non-immigrant visa for temporary stay. The type of visa you will need is based on the purpose of your travel. Advance travel planning and early visa application are important, since visa applications are subject to a greater degree of scrutiny than in the past. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of application, however applicants or their representatives will need to allow at least 90 days from the date of interview or submission of supplemental documents to obtain the required visa.
